A specific biometric system and scenario of use were developed and designed for each evaluation. Heterogeneous populations of users, including younger adults, older adults, and people with accessibility concerns, were recruited for the interaction assessments. The results of the experiments demonstrated how the users' capabilities, experience, and age impacted the biometric systems' performance. As a result, solutions were developed to mitigate these influences. The primary impact of this research was the creation of new guidelines for developing more usable and accessible mobile biometric systems.
