  I organized a course for 25 European students at the Faculty of Engineering, Sapienza University of Rome, focused on space missions, space systems, and space radiation effects on the human body. I invited renowned professors and industry leaders like AVIO and UAI to contribute.Additionally, I managed logistics, including a visit to the Aeronautical Army Base of Pratica di Mare (photo attached), where students were welcomed by the Italian Air Force and explored training facilities.The course earned the Golden Apple award for the best BEST association course in Europe (2016/2017), supported by BEST Rome and Sapienza’s Faculty of Engineering.   As a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Early Stage Researcher at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (2017–2020), I designed and developed user-friendly mobile biometric applications for Android and iOS, focusing on accessibility and privacy. I gained extensive experience in accessibility and became an expert in WCAG 2.1.I conducted usability, UI/UX, and accessibility evaluations following ISO/IEC 21472 and 19792 standards, ensuring GDPR compliance. Additionally, I developed an international standard for accessibility evaluation in biometric recognition systems.With strong expertise in ISO standards for usability, privacy, ethics, cybersecurity, and data protection, my work was supported by AMBER, a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Action Innovative Training Network focused on mobile biometrics challenges.   Margarita Salas Postdoctoral Researcher and Visiting Professor

  I worked as a Product Designer leading a project to develop an interactive system that would allow individuals with mild intellectual disabilities to be more autonomous. The project was carried out following the Design Thinking framework and the Double Diamond model, collaborating with various associations supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities.I was responsible for both the research and design aspects. I conducted interviews with real individuals, led ideation and brainstorming sessions, and designed the entire smartphone application. This included defining a Design System and developing the interactive app in Figma.Additionally, I worked on adapting the Design Thinking tools to be more accessible for users with mild intellectual impairments, ensuring the process was inclusive and effective for all participants.My work was informed by my strong expertise in accessibility, including knowledge of WCAG 2.1 standards and European and Spanish laws on accessibility, such as the European Accessibility Act (2019/882), the Spanish Law 34/2002 on Services of the Information Society and Electronic Commerce (LSSI-CE), and the Spanish General Law on Disability (LGD) 3/2013.   I offer my expertise as a UX/UI Researcher and Designer, collaborating with companies that are restyling their websites and applications. In these projects, I work closely with stakeholders to understand user needs, conduct research, and design user-centered interfaces that align with business goals while enhancing user satisfaction. My role covers everything from initial user research and wireframing to prototyping and usability testing, ensuring the final product meets both accessibility and usability standards.In addition to my design work, I am actively involved in academia as a professor. I share my knowledge with students to individuals with accessibility impairments. I adapt my teaching methods to ensure all students, regardless of their impairments, can engage with the material and develop an understanding of UX/UI design principles.A key highlight of my teaching experience is leading a Bootcamp on becoming a Digital Accessibility Evaluator. In this Bootcamp, I train participants on the importance of digital accessibility, how to evaluate websites and applications for compliance with WCAG 2.1 standards, and how to identify and resolve common accessibility issues.
