  The research project is “A Balance Reach Training Platform to Address Balance Disorders in Older and Neurologically Disabled Veterans” Some responsibilities are:Analyze energy expenditure data and cardiovascular function captured by accelerometry and doppler systems, including heart rate variability and vascular stiffness and reactivity. Analyzes body composition data by MRI and CT.· Utilize the Vicon Motion Detection system, force plates, virtual reality eyewear, and the Gait-Rite mat to analyze balance and motion.· Administer physical function testing, interpret results, and reports findings· Maintain program and study data for reports, program effectiveness, case load, and attendance· Assists with implementation of exercise rehabilitation projects including instructing participants on the proper technique of using exercise equipment· Monitor participants during exercise sessions and report participant progress to principal investigator· Obtain written informed consent from potential research subjects· Assist principal investigator with assessing study participant medical eligibility in accordance with established protocols· Assists principal investigator and project team members with completion of documentation for applicable Institutional Review Board (IRB) for initial and continuing human subjects’ review· Perform other duties within the scope of practice of the incumbent and as assigned by the principal investigatorThis position is an integral part of working with multidisciplinary team of physicians, biomechanical engineers, nurses, exercise physiologists, dietitians, social workers and therapists to assist with multiple projects.
