      As a paralegal within the firm, my primary role consisted of monitoring our Covid-19 Business Interruption claims, alongside assisting the partners and the managing partner. For instance, this consisted of drafting letters to clients and providing research notes on specific topics, such as the Limitations Act 1980 and stay of execution requirements. Working on Business Interruption claims not only enhanced my commercial awareness and overall understanding of the litigation process but more importantly, it allowed me to develop several valuable skills. These consisted of but were not limited to, enhancing the quality of my professional writing through reviewing Letters of Response, and then drafting Letters of Reply; improving my research skills; and improving my client communication through interacting with clients both orally and in writing. Whilst these skills are individually important, combined they have allowed my time-keeping abilities to drastically improve due to the specific nature of litigation and the time-keeping requirements.Further, I provided support to the managing partner during the initial introduction phase of undisclosed commission claims at the firm. My responsibilities included actively engaging with clients and conducting examinations of their financial agreements to determine the potential existence of hidden commissions.I partook in ‘Maths for Smart Lawyers’, ‘Fifteenth Annual CPR Review of the Year’, ‘Non-Damage' Business Interruption Insurance update’ and took notes of the five-day case, London International Exhibition Centre concerning Business Interruption.       During this one-week internship, I had the pleasure of working alongside the head of the FinTech division at Hassans International. Most notably, I conducted numerous research tasks, which included, but were not limited to, exploring the products and services that e-money institutions can provide in Gibraltar, which was subsequently included in an advice note to a client; assessing the risks associated with non-compliance of e-money institutions' regulatory obligations in Gibraltar; and understanding the reporting requirements for e-money institutions to the Gibraltar Financial Services Commission.Further, I had an excellent opportunity to delve into Gibraltar legislation concerning Distributed Ledger Technology, examine whether digital tokens are considered financial instruments, and observe how advancing technology is aligning with the Financial Services Act 2019.Additionally, I had the privilege of reviewing client memos that provided guidance on the regulatory requirements for the tokenisation of assets, as well as advice on issuing and trading tokenised assets. During this time, I had the chance to review an EMI Option Agreement, assisting the team in providing client advice on when and how the options may be exercised.Additionally, I reviewed a company's Articles of Association to assist a client in understanding what the articles stated regarding the purchase or transfer of ordinary shares to deferred shares.Finally, I had the opportunity to examine the Articles of Association of another company, aiding the Associate in identifying the payment options accessible to shareholders during events like a business sale.
