      Professional Tutor

Tutored students from Basic Mathematics to Trigonometry, lectured in math subject specific workshops, provided mentoring to co-workers and students, created practice exams, graded exams, and completed paperwork to submit grades to the college.Communicated with students on how they approached their math problems, observed their thought process during their explanations, evaluated where they went wrong or what direction to push them, and then asked them questions to direct their minds to help them solve their own problem. Or I would demonstrate a similar problem to help them think through their work and think mathematically. Show less

Worked under Dr. Roger C. Lo with funding by CSU Program for Education and Research in Biotechnology (CSUPERB) Education Grant to create six open-source tools for teaching chemical engineering foundations to students, and creating affordable scientific research using an Arduino. Created an affordable pH meter using an Arduino and affordable pH probe, and then collaborated with Lekshmi Sasi (Graduate Student) to test and compare with industry pH meters. Before the pandemic, created a prototype for water level control using electronic circuits, Arduino, and affordable equipment.Learned, maintained, and upgraded 3D printers such as the Prusa i3 with MMU2S upgrade. Learned and did rapid prototyping using Solidworks and 3D printers. Applied troubleshooting practices to fix air leaks with EpilogLaser Mini 18 and learned how to use and maintain it.Helped out labmates with 3D printers, programming, and other technical aspects of the lab. Graduate Student Researcher

Completed my Biology Masters at SFSU under the Genentech Fellowship. My strength is in programming and abstract thinking--I aim to use those skills in scientific research; which I did for my thesis.I created interface software to control a robot and camera to collect image data for 2 projects: (1) chemical screening drosophila melanogaster (fruit flies) for fertility and fecundity and (2) as a colorimetric assay for the production of methyl halide gasses for biofuel research. Using Python, I wrote algorithms to send G-Code commands to control the robotic parts of a 3D printer as a low-cost alternative to industrial scientific lab automation, providing affordable automation.
