      Finishing Manager

In December 2005 the Finishing Manager was made redundant along with 19 other members of staff including other managers. My role then changed from being a Finishing supervisor to also include being fully responsible for the Finishing Department which also included Logistics and Mailing Department reporting directly to the Operations Director. The total number of staff that I was initially responsible for was 32 which included a Transport Manager, Direct Mail Manager, various other Supervisors, together with managing a team of temporary staff. I was given the task of planning and implementing a continental shift system. This involved recruiting extra staff to a level of between 50-60 at any time.Reason for Leaving: In January 2007 the Company was bought by Media Print Investments and they then re-located the Company to Frome, Somerset into the premises of one of their other acquisitions. Although I was offered a position to move with the company, I decided to take redundancy as I was not in a position financially at that time to enable me to re-locate my home again so soon after moving from Bournemouth to Bridport.Duties:* Manage personnel to optimise the production output from all production lines* Responsible for overall control of Logistics* Point of contact for site security* Boost staff morale following redundancies and pull the team together* Training personnel as required* Completing Appraisals for 50-60 members of staff.* Implement disciplinary action as required* Responsible for maintaining/ordering parts for machinery* Stock control for all consumable materials in my department.* Fault finding on all machines.* Liaise with Production Planning to plan/attain optimum output.* Ensure all employees adhere to Company Health & Safety Procedures* Inspect products for quality and ensure quality maintained.* Liaise with customers Show less
