      Apr 2021 - Sept 2021
Project Lead - Living Wage Region Campaign

      - The secondment took place alongside my existing role at Bruntwood, and I was happy to take on the additional work as I have always enjoyed helping society.- This role required me to engage with many stakeholders and a wide range of leaders across both the public and private sectors. Working alongside Ravi Badat, economic policy adviser in the GMCA, I would regularly report to the Mayor Andy Burnham, as well as John Wrathmell, Director of Strategy, Research and Economy, and Chair of the Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP), Lou Cordwell on progress and challenges.- The project was focussed on delivering Andy Burnham’s manifesto promise to help promote the real Living Wage throughout Greater Manchester.- My specific role was to act as project lead for 2 of the 7 main areas or strands of the campaign; Large Private Sector Employers and Health and Social Care. - This role entailed establishing two separate steering groups and utilising them in order to agree working plans for the first 3 years of the campaign (2021-2024).- In order to establish the steering groups, there was a need to build networks within completely new environments in which I had never operated. I built relationships with many HR directors from companies such as KPMG, Autotrader, Talk Talk as well as Chief executive of GM Chambers of Commerce, Clive Memmott. - We had to ensure relevant members in the steering groups, unions, members of the Combined Authority and Living Wage Foundation were happy in respect to objectives, collateral and both the number and timing of the meetings. This required diplomatic skill by taking into account everyone’s opinions.- Once the groups were established, I had to create agendas for the meetings that were to follow as well as chairing them. We established plans that were to be put forward to the Living Wage Foundation and signed off, ensuring that Greater Manchester is now the first Living Wage City Region in the UK. Show less
