Experienced manager, technical lead, and program manager. Key traits: 1. Defining and communicating a product vision.* Used strong customer connections and knowledge of the management space to help define and build the case for the Operations Management Suite.* Created and delivered presentations to large groups at conferences and one-on-one to C-level executives on how companies can take advantage of Microsoft management products and how they can build extensions and plug-ins for those products. 2. Building and leading teams. * Years of experience giving technical direction, mentoring, and personnel management to teams that delivered on time across multiple releases while frequently managing staffing shortages. * Recruited and hired talented full-time employees and contractors as appropriate to staff product teams. Experienced with managing interns through people in more senior roles. 3. Building and maintaining strong cross-group and external partnerships. * Led planning across divisions of multiple releases across multiple products including Windows Server, System Center, and Operations Management Suite. * Gave company-wide training on the use of lean startup techniques ("moneyball").* Recruited external hardware and software partners to build extensions to Virtual Machine Manager and solutions for Operations Management Suite. Show less As a senior PM for OMS, I was charged with building the ecosystem of the product, working to ensure it met customer needs and provided great value to the Azure portfolio. To accomplish this, I worked to establish partner scenarios and needs, evangelize the demand for third party extensibility, and build a strategy aligning our technology with Azure's (ARM). Taking it from design to deployment required uniting a previously-fragmented exploration of the space by multiple departments, then building an undivided team to resource the effort. The initial release of OMS Solutions was at Ignite with demonstration solutions and documentation. Then, to continue the business drive, I created an initial set of 10+ solutions in the Azure Marketplace in collaboration with Microsoft partners. Other role highlights: * Gathered and analyzed customer needs to scope a newly established Docker container service for OMS. Drove proposals for approval and resourcing, and delivered the first ever service in OMS for Docker containers. Managed a robust sustaining plan with multiple metrical indicators on customer usage and continuing improvement opportunities. Also advocated for inclusion of and supported keynote efforts that put OMS in the DockerCon 16 keynote. * Top-rated presenter of the 2016 Microsoft PM conference. Delivered highly positively reviewed whitepaper regarding customer need hypothesis establishment and evaluation.* Led planning for the Chlorine and Argon releases of OMS, working across multiple services and sites (India, Redmond, and Israel). * Drove ecosystem portion of the OMS customer day. * Designed reorganization of the team into a dedicated solutions team and helped define charter of the new team. Show less Role highlights:* Designed, built, and conducted customer research for new features, functionality, and improvements to current IT customer's tasks. Then converted the raw data into specifications for new experiences and created prototype functionality in new UI frameworks.* Managed the sustained engineering pipeline (the entire process to scope, develop, and release updates to the on-premises product) for the Virtual Machine Manager product. This included defining quarterly release content, prioritizing development work for the release, working with support and customers to resolve critical situations, and managing release cadence. * Oversaw and managed the transition of the sustained engineering pipeline to the India team. * Delivered the guest clustering feature, updates, and new features for the integration between System Center Operations Manager (SCOM) and the System Center Virtual Machine Manager (SCVMM) components for the 2012 R2 release. * Gathered requirements, wrote specifications, and managed release of monitoring updates to enable Chargeback functionality for SCVMM. * Led planning team for patching, upgrade, and maintainability for Windows Server, System Center, and Cloud Platform Solutions (CPS) for the Windows Threshold release. * Managed certification of Microsoft FastTrack customers for SCVMM. This involved verifying that Microsoft partners building integrated solutions had implementations of SCVMM that were technically correct and aligned with Microsoft strategy. Show less -Defined the user scenarios for multiple features and products via customer engagement and data analysis. Using that data, created scenarios and the specifications for the Add-Ins feature of Virtual Machine Manager, including defining the high-level scenarios for various Service Manager and Virtual Machine Manager milestones. -Led the System Center-wide process development when the suite merged into a single product. -Provided compliance management for the Common Engineering Criteria for System Center Virtual Machine Manager. Show less Led and managed the Service Manager, Virtual Machine Manager, and Operations Manager documentation teams. Role highlights: * Recruited and hired talented full-time employees and contractors as appropriate to staff product teams. Mentored both early-career employees and senior employees. * Created a strategy for early Service Manager documentation using concepts from Made to Stick, with story-based documentation that had concrete examples for each scenario. Customer feedback was positive for both the persona-based documentation (80% satisfaction) and story-based documentation (75% satisfaction)* Envisioned, created, tested, and ran a content promotion for an industry event by using a mobile phone tag-based raffle to showcase content.* Envisioned and created mobile content device strategy for System Center content team.* Created process for, edited, and wrote terminology, UI text, and error messages for Service Manager v1. Required getting agreement and signoff from engineering, marketing, editing, and legal. * Worked closely with self-service portal PM and UX to design a portal that met end user and product goals.
