      Future Leaders Program (Science and Technology in Society Forum) Science and Technology in Society Forum Oct 2017 In 2017, I was invited to participate in the ‘Future Leaders Program’ organized by the Science and Technology in Society (STS) forum in Kyoto, Japan. Here I was given the opportunity to exchange views with Nobel Laureates and global leaders from 80 different countries and discuss how we as scientists and innovators can contribute to the improvement of the world through science and technology.

Chorafas Prize for her thesis entitled "chip designs for high efficiency III-nitride based ultraviolet light emitting diodes with enhanced light extraction". This award is assigned to outstanding work in selected fields in the engineering sciences, medicine and the natural sciences. Chorafas Prize for her thesis entitled "chip designs for high efficiency III-nitride based ultraviolet light emitting diodes with enhanced light extraction". This award is assigned to outstanding work in selected fields in the engineering sciences, medicine and the natural sciences. It rewards research characterized by its high potential for practical application and by the special significance attached to its aftermath. The Chorafas Foundation honors every year graduates from 25 selected international universities including ETH Zuerich, MIT, and Tokyo Institute of Technology.       Leibniz-Gründerpreis (Founder Award) 2016 Leibniz-Gemeinschaft Mar 2016 UVphotonics NT GmbH was chosen as the winner of the Leibniz-Gründerpreis (Founder award) on 18th March 2016 from eight nominated start-up initiatives from Leibniz institutes. The prize of 50,000 Euro is intended to support the company financially in developing a successful marketing and sales strategy.
