  Update Aug 2016 - Olympic Games: Since more than one month we are transporting passengers in huge quantities!The Rio de Janeiro tramway system contains a new development combining APS and super capacitors. APS is the 3rd rail - energised only under the vehicle for safety - already present in various cities in the world but further developed - and a new super capacitor traction autonomy system to cross zones without 3rd rail supply like track switches and curves. Combined with rapid changing passenger load and climate conditions this creates interesting activities and need for local presence and rapid answers of a senior rolling stock specialist with a wide field experience.
