Establishment of tools for the study of Leishmania major interaction between MPK7 and Metacaspase (MCA). Production of several plasmids expressing MCA and MCA dead mutant to generate recombinant protein and transgenic parasite. I was involved in the generation of conditional knock-out parasite for MPK7. I studied stress response of different transgenic parasite.

    • Awarded to Franck Dumetz
Laureate of the Royal Society for Over Sea Sciences Belgian Royal Society for Over Sea Sciences Jun 2018 This award was granted to me for my PhD work. It answers to the 2nd question of the 2018's competition on “the study of resistance mechanisms and how their understanding could contribute to develop new anti-infectious or anti-parasitic treatments accessible to low or average income countries”.
    • Awarded to Franck Dumetz
Zoetis Travel Award Zoetis May 2017 Zoetis, in association with the Belgian Society of Parasitology and Protistology, attributs each year its travel award to a PhD student to go to a conference. In 2017, I received their support to go to WorldLeish6 in Toledo in Spain were I got the opportunity to present my work in a presentation untitled "Pre-adaptation to antimonials is general in Leishmania donovani from the Indian subcontinent.
    • Awarded to Franck Dumetz
AIPB Research grant Organisation Les amis des Instituts Pasteur à Bruxelles (AIPB) Jan 2015 AIPB allows renewal of a research project. This grant is the continuation of the one that was attributed in 2014 for the MetLeish project
    • Awarded to Franck Dumetz
Short term fellowship EMBO Feb 2014 This short stay was performed in the laboratory of Prof. Joachim Clos at the Bernhard Nocht Institute in Hamburg (Germany). The purpose of the stay was to isolate and modify circular DNA molecules from Leishmania donovani and genetically manipulate them in order characterize them and to re-introduce them inside parasites who do not carry them.
    • Awarded to Franck Dumetz
AIPB Research grant Organisation Les amis des Instituts Pasteur à Bruxelles (AIPB) Jan 2014 I got granted of a salary fellowship from IAPB to investigate the role of DNA methylation in gene expression in Leishmania donovani, a project called MetLeish.
