  In this position we were responsible for preparing rooms for events at the student center. I did hourly safety inspections of facilities. We also made sure the cork board was cleaned of outdated posters.

  In this role I prepped our food to go on the line, and made sandwiches. I also did daily cleaning of the restaurant as well as any other additional cleaning I could do with free time. In the mornings I took inventory and counted the register and made sure the balance was correct.

  During my time at DePaul Translator and Interpreter Corps we were working on a project from a local church. The church had many old newsletters from the 1930s and 40s that they knew had Fascist and Nazi rhetoric in them and they wanted them translated from German to English. The first task was sorting through all the documents to find the relevant news letters and sections. To do this I used a transcribing service called Transkribus to transcribe German documents that were in Faktur into a format that could be put into Google Translate. I also occasionally had to transcribe the documents myself when the program wasn't working. After transcribing we would run the text through a machine translator (I used Google Translate). Then I would start editing the text and checking it for meaning so the clients could determine if they wanted the documents translated. Although it was not needed I would frequently find relevant information and mark it for the reviewing board at the church. Show less

  In this role I had the opportunity to researched legislation on the dangers of Vaping for the Senator to speak on to her peers. I also created videos and graphic designs for social media posts, and updated website to make sure it was a useful tool for constituents.
