Improving airbox performance and suspension knowledge through Motec for the 2022 season taking 3rd overall in the FIM world championship.

  Advisor for the team management to ensure a smooth and robust management transition and well as guiding the team throughout the manufacture of the 2023 electric vehicle, focusing on overseeing all designs, minimising cost, preparing static events and driving the development forward in my final year with the team. Latterly, Head of Mechanical systems to advise on the design of all mechanical components including the team's first epicyclic gearbox and electric powertrain. In one year of development we manufactured a full mechanical and power electronics assembly, while maintaining the previous combustion car complete and running, to finish in the top five in FSUK design, and just outside the top 5 in cost. Show less Moved into the Head Engineer position in 2020 to lead the engineering team for their first electric vehicle concept and managing the build of the combustion vehicle. This incredibly challenging season involved balancing a low income and tight travel and group working restrictions, whilst keeping a growing team motivated. The 2021 competition gave UGR it's highest finishing position so far with our first FSUK design final. In 2022 I led the design and manufacture of the teams 2022 combustion vehicle from start to finish, taking the car to victory at the 2022 FSUK competition. Bringing the team back from 1 and a half years of remote working, and pushing the limits of our team resources, presenting to sponsors and supporting trusts, and continuing to teach and develop the practical skills lost over the Covid19 period.   Day-to-day management of offshore engineering projects, supporting a Project Manager on larger projects and leading smaller projects. Managing schedules, project risks, budgets and forecasts whilst tying together the design, procurement, manufacturing, assembly, commissioning & delivery. Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer at Royal IHC engaging on various projects, designing several mechanical parts for mounting components on a modular cable lay system, validation within a launch and recovery system, modelling an LCE to validate a control model, presenting my findings and get feedback from a group of talented and experienced engineers.
