      Nov 2010 - Feb 2011
      Research Intern

I developed and ran virtually reality experiements which tested viewing conditions expected in the Bionic Eye technology. Matlab was used to create the virtual reality environment and run quantitative statistical analysis on the results of human experiments.

      Nov 2011 - Feb 2012
      Summer Research Intern

I was the finalist for the Dean´s prize, University of Sydney, 2012, which allowed me to work on this summer research project. In this work, I participated on a project examining older driver safety and was involved in creating algorithms in Matlab to analyse real-world driving data and extract near-miss cases. Additionally, I designed and ran a research project running sled crash tests to examine forces associated with crashes of varying severity. I conducted a study which examined the capabilities of a ´black box´ recording device in recordng near-misses. Show less

      Aug 2015 - Jul 2017
      Postdoctoral Research Engineer

I assisted in the design and implementation of several research investigations with a focus on injury prevention. This involved the development of experimental protocols including surveys and field data collection materials to investigate the performance of motorcycle protective clothing and to conduct a naturalistic driving study.I conducted in-depth crash investigation including site, vehicle and clothing inspections and perform statistical analysis on large datasets using SPSS, Matlab, SAS.Additionally, I conducted literature reviews, produced journal articles and conference papers, prepare conference presentations. Nov 2020 - Jun 2021
      Research and Evaluation

Predominantly, my work focussed on developing educational programs to assist police and local communities in tackling domestic violence. Using principles of andragogy, I developed two informative workshops (in an interactive game format) for communities of women who had been involved in domestic violence to inform them of the protection available to them under the law while also presenting the challenges they may face.Additionally, I established a pre and post survey to analyse the effectiveness of these workshops using qualitative and quantitative research methodsI was responsible for analysis and dissemination of results in report form including: a background literature review of the challenges in the legal system, principles of andragogy and current education programs designed at domestic violence prevention; analysis of survey results; presentation and dissemination of results in a scientific, yet easy to understand format. Finally, I completed funding applications for work aimed at reforming local police education surrounding domestic violence.
