Provided processing definitions and formulation development evaluations for a new advanced material start-up company. My primary role was one of process and formulation data evaluation, helping to define processing requirements, and defining evaluation trials and design of experiments. An analysis and recommendation was provided for new corporate quality metrics for a tier 1 automotive supplier. This analysis reviewed the short-comings with current metrics which led to the development of MGPPs for new global metrics and a manufacturing strategy for quality improvement. Analysis of existing data led to recommendations for several Projects to improve quality and reduce scrap. Additionally, I have been an instructor for a monthly one week course on problem solving geared towards production leader.Facilitated an internal audit and led improvements of a continuous Hot Melt Adhesive Process with a focus on improving operational discipline and product quality. Process and maintenance procedures were re-written and implemented, validated root cause of contamination, and defined further process improvements in support of >$3M in sales. Led data analysis and root-cause investigation related to a quality upset of a key sealant impacting finished units in a project with >$20M impact. Field sampling plans were proposed and accepted by the customer, unit defects were linked to specific batches of produced sealant, and a FMEA was conducted that led to process improvements.Defined a reverse DMEDI process on selected batch processes and packaging operations with highly leveraged products and numerous manual steps. The focus was to link critical customer requirements back to the application and existing manufacturing process. An FMEA and Control Plan were developed that provided the manufacturing teams with the knowledge of key process variables, controls, and testing required ensuring the product meets end-use requirements.
