My role as Brand Ambassador meant that I was in charge of representing multiple brands that had employed Retail Safari. Being a Brand Ambassador involved positively representing a brand, engaging with potential customers and lots of handing out product samples!

During one of the biggest IT upgrades the business has seen in years, I am one of select few, charge of taking this new system into stores and training teams on the new processes and systems. My success and the success of this implementation will be positively influenced by my ability to: engage, manage change, and trust and verify. Each week throughout this secondment, I'll be working in stores I've never worked in with managers and teams I've never met; and with my ability to engage with these teams I can show them the brighter future of the company with this new system.Change is not always easy, nor is it easy to manage. But with my skills, i'll be easing these store teams into the new processes and managing the whole process, week after week in different stores. The ability to trust in the stores to carry out these new tasks will be crucial moving forward. I know, that with the training I provide, I can confidently lead these store teams into this new system and know that they can carry this training on and be champions of the product on my behalf. Show less Over my employment with Dan Murphy’s, and thanks to the Pathways Program, I have had wide-ranging exposure to most parts of the in-store side of the business. Armed with this understanding of Dan Murphy’s, I see the role of Fulfillment Manager as being shaped by three key elements - people, passion and creating experiences. From the customers who walk in the door, to the people who make Dan Murphy’s great, my job involves a great deal of people time - I love working in a role where I get to meet such a variety of staff and customers. I am constantly learning from the high calibre staff that Dan Murphy’s attract, even those that I lead. The alcohol industry has passion by the barrelful: it attracts people who are high energy, adaptable and above all, passionate. Learning about alcohol has always been a passion of mine - on a daily basis I am lucky enough to meet people who see things similarly to me. My team’s enthusiasm to expand their product knowledge is infectious, and customers frequently surprise me with their expertise. Retail is 99% experience. Okay, I made that statistic up, but ensuring that a customer has positive interactions with our brand is crucial. In leading my team, I try to impress upon them the importance of ensuring every customer has the most positive experience possible. This also means that I need to make sure that staff experience Dan Murphy’s positively as well. Show less
