Nov 1986 - Mar 1988Production ChiefAs a new Engineer, worked in Bagfaş, What I have done and some of my responsibilities are as follows;• Reporting to Production Director• Produce planned production, 660 tons/day, with 32 union-member workers in 7X24X365 working plant.• Solving all production problems.• Following the inventory of raw materials and product and take actions internally.• Schedules for maintenance of the plant were prepared, organized periodically. • Man power and shift / Crew schedules were prepared and issued each week • New methods were improved to shorten the maintenance time. Brisa Bridgestone & Sabanci Tire Co.
Apr 1988 - Dec 1999Process EngineerHere, worked and experienced about tire, ( production, technical, development ) in the BRIDGESTONE plant by working Japanese staff, advisers...Also taken responsibility for installing new machinery, equipment to the plant and put them to mass production. What I've done and main responsibilities are shown below: • Reporting to Technical Manager / R&D Director.• Preparation of Production Specifications & Application Standards for process areas.• Support to production to prevent defective material occurrence, accumulation, as an example : A new Work-away method was found a result defective material was minimized and early worn out problem of Agricultural tires were solved, 2 mn. USD / year was saved.• Cost & Man saving projects were designed and applied; For example; Flap Extrusion time decreased 1/3 of standard, 1 shift/week was gained. • Automation of valve application for inner tubes has been adopted. 2 man/ shift was saved. • Productivity increasing activities were done like; batch size optimization. • Curing water temperature was decreased without capacity loss, about 1 mn.USD has gained. • Pre-heated mold method applied, totally 1 mn USD/month were saved by productivity increase. • Attending to auditing of PETKIM, several times as supplier auditor. • Activities, meetings of Japanese Advisers in process areas were coordinated. • Process specification system was improved for better functionality. Shop Floor project was started. Structure was set. • Green tire inner paint was changed from solvent to water based for workers health, better performance and safety. 15.000 tires/day were effected • Mold cleaning material was changed from sand to ceramic bead to prevent early wearing of molds, so mold life was increased by 20%. Jan 2002 - Dec 2010During my responsibility in Birdgestone, I was responsible from Renault (RENAULT), Fiat (TOFAŞ), Ford (OTOSAN, Commercial and Truck), Mercedes (MERCEDES Bus and Truck), Peugeot (KARSAN Commercial), Hyundai (H-ASSAN, Car), Toyota (TOYOTA), Case+New Holland (TURK TRAKTOR)… etc. I was managing and organizing all relations from beginning of the project, development, testing, approval, pricing, price negotiations, start-up, mass production, shipment, after-sales, payment follow up, debit follow up, etc. Also, for each customer, production/demand forecast for 5 years, hi-precise forecast for one year and production / shipment planning for coming months, weeks and days.. ,Visiting customers regularly and problem/Project basis in their plants and/or head offices in Europe. USD sales budget and more than 400.000 tires / year in Istanbul region (2007-2008) are managed.• 100+ dealers located in each of district was under responsibility to be follow closely. • Coaching sales crew including sales chiefs (5) and merchandising team. ( 5 ) • Improvement plans of sub districts , regional or national sales campaigns were prepared / applied and the result / evaluation is followed, reported.• Proposing the Improvement plans of dealers, steering their investments & growth were done for each sales point, once a year. • Interviews were done frequently, with sales chief candidates directed by HR. Dept.• Setting of Dealer Sales encourage & loyalty system which is updated each year.,• Taking place at Alternative Sales Point development, i.e. Performance Point, Oto-Pratik shops and services which are new channels for the country.
