As a Supervisor of Patient Care – Surgery, I’m responsible for ensuring compassionate patient care delivery by over 65 employees as well as mentoring and developing staff while maintaining financial and budgetary goals.══ INSPIRE ══ As an advocate for patients, I hold the responsibility of ensuring the staff I supervise delivers excellent, safe, and compassionate patient care. As a mentor and trainer, I trained three nurses to function as Charge Nurses, which allows me to perform other tasks and responsibilities more effectively and efficiently. Because compliance with policies and processes (P&P) is so crucial in the medical field, I take very seriously my responsibility for observing and addressing non-adherence to these P&P. Ensuring my staff is properly trained on their tasks, makes it easier for them to adhere the P&P. I create accountability for maintaining excellence and supporting the hospital’s vision, mission, and strategic plan; therefore, helping generate an environment of teamwork, stability, and employee, physician, and customer satisfaction. In my department, we work as a team to ensure patient care is a top priority. By developing a close working relationship with my staff, management, and patients, I help uphold the hospital’s high standards. As I schedule and coordinate the surgical cases, I am responsible for assigning and coordinating the care for patients, so it is critical for me that I work well with all involved…nurses, surgeons, anesthesiologists, and most importantly, the patients.══ SPECIALTIES ══ Nursing | Healthcare | Patient Safety | Hospitals | Healthcare Management | Cath Lab | IR | Critical Care | Healthcare Information Technology | Inpatient | Clinical Research | Leadership | PALS | BLS | ICU |Teamwork | HIPPA | Patient Advocacy | Registered Nursing | EMR | Physician Relations | Patient Care | Administrative Oversight | Mentor | Management | Budget | Process Standardization Show less As a Registered Nurse/Charge Nurse – Surgery, I made the patients’ safety my top priority, while addressing their concerns and helping to ensure the surgical suites were in tip-top shape.══ RESPONSIBLE ══ Ensuring that the strict and sterile maintenance of the surgical suites was a crucial part of my job. In order to do this, I had to prepare the operating suite according to not just the type of scheduled surgery and the hospital standards, but also tailor it to the surgeon’s preferences. Since I assisted with anesthesia to ensure a safe surgical airway was placed and maintained, it was important that the anesthesiologist, surgeon, other surgical staff, and I worked as a team.I addressed patients’ and their families’ concerns by maintaining clear communication with them prior to the surgery. I also prepared documentation of the surgical events, and was in charge of planning, delegating, and supervising patients’ care responsibilities in accordance to the policies and procedures. I thrived in this position which led to my promotion to Supervisor.══ SPECIALTIES ══ Nursing | Healthcare | Patient Safety | Hospitals | Healthcare Management | Acute Care | Critical Care | Healthcare Information Technology | Inpatient | Clinical Research | Leadership | ACLS | BLS | ICU |Teamwork | Radiology | HIPPA | Patient Advocacy | Registered Nursing | EMR | Physician Relations | Patient Care | Administrative Oversight | Mentor | Management | Budget | Process Standardization Show less
