Photography is a pure hobby that turned into a small business whilst I was at University. I fell in love with photography as it has allowed me to create art rooted in reality. It enables us to capture moments that would otherwise blend into all the other moments that have passed. Instead, we can freeze time in a way and be able to look back at it over time, seeing something new, different or someone who is no longer with us. The images of us don't change, we do.

      Jan 2012 - Jan 2015
      Head sports scientist

Whilst studying sport and exercise science at university, I was hand-picked by England's then under 21 Heads Sports Scientist Craig Boyd to help develop a centre of excellence for athletes with cerebral Palsy. I liaised with the staff, team coaches, physiotherapists, and media and dealt directly with players and parents. Firstly, I identified and facilitated appropriate communication methods such as open forums for parents to ask questions and to educate players, parents and coaches. Afterwards, I created training programmes to help the players achieve their sporting ambitions and functionality goals in their daily lives. These programmes were recognised as outstanding by the Manchester FA. Through creating a great environment with some of the best coaches, we developed teams that went on to be champions for consecutive years. At university, I chose to make it a passionate subject for my dissertation after seeing first-hand how it affects these athletes' lives. I focused my dissertation on how active stretching affects athletes with Cerebral Palsy against athletes without Cerebral Palsy over 20 metres sprints. My lecture encouraged my dissertation and passion resulting in a request to present my findings at St George's Park in front of the British Paralympic Association. Something I will always be very proud of achieving. Show less

    • Royal Mail

      Mar 2013 - Dec 2017

Whilst I was a part of East London’s team, I managed 64 employees whom together we served 21,000 customers in a six-day operation. Furthermore, this included a night operation (CSS Machines). My key responsibilities were: • Managing budgets to achieve quarterly targets for both my unit and for the commercial targets of the company • Stake holder management in working closely with senior leadership teams to discuss transitions, strategic plans, and for office revisions. The office revisions consisted of structural changes or lean efficiencies• Develop and manage working relationships with the logistic pipeline to deliver company goals and to maintain regulatory commitments • Key Performance Indicator (KPI) accountability ensuring my unit achieved a reduction in customer complaints, accidents, total costs, and efficiencies I achieved the following results in my last year with the company: 25% improvement YOY in sick absence, 75% reduction in road traffic collisions, 4.2% improvement in YOY gross hours and 6% improvement on work hours. Show less As a continuous improvement process manager to drive world-class mail (WCM) I saw some terrific results. WCM created for The Royal Mail Group from world-class manufacturing has enabled me to always look to the root cause of any problem. That focus allowed me to embed robust countermeasures that targeted the problems, not the symptoms. Through WCM, I focused on the key-performing indicators in such a way that continually improved performance. I saw safety improvements, a reduction of accidents, efficiency improvements in a leaner operation and customer satisfaction improvements in the end-to-end product. In two WCM audits I collected 12 points with the WCM team, engaged the front line and changed the culture for the better. Show less
