Numerical modeling of unsaturated flow and transport, colloid transport, heat transport, and risk based analysis. Conduct laboratory experiments to support modeling. As part of a team, designed and developed engineering drawing for multiple foam mitigation enclosures for explosive tests, modeled shock wave behavior, performed engineering calculations, coordinated technical reviews, documented design (requirements documents, technical write-up, and response to review comments), and coordinated with individuals across several divisions and disciplines. In addition, designed a portable foam collection and treatment system for the foam waste generated during an explosive shot. The waste stream contained mixed waste. Show less

    • University of Montana

      Jan 2005 - Jan 2009

Developed a 2 + 2 engineering program between the University of Montana and Montana Tech. Taught courses in: Introduction to Engineering and Engineering Statics. Advised students interested in transferring to another University in order to pursue an engineering degree. Brine Convection Modeling: Conducted and integrated data from intermediate scale experiments to study heat convection from a system heated from above and cooled from below into the MAGHNUM numerical model. Using parameter for Mars, heat convection and water movement was modeled to evaluate how fluid type (water, calcium chloride, magnesium sulfate), difference in thermal load, and concentration affected convection.
