The Street Youth Project was funded through the Youth Crime Action Plan to work in areas of high antisocial behavior at various locations in Peterborough.By working with young people on a Friday and Saturday evening, we were able to reduce antisocial behavior significantly across the city.A byproduct of this project was a Saturday night football project which at its height was delivering to over 80 young people in Dogsthorpe each week.I supporting a working group of four young people to successfully present to a Dragons Den style panel and secure £50,000.00 of capital funding. These funds refurbished the Street Youth Bus which is now used by many different youth groups across the city. Show less

The Peterborough Open Awards Centre (POAC) is a new charity which will deliver accredited and certified awards to young people aged between 14 and 24 in the city of Peterborough. The first Award to be offered is the Duke of Edinburgh Award (DofE); an internationally recognised certification which is not only enhances employment applications but can also assist in university applications. The first POAC centre will be based in Hampton, Peterborough. Hampton College is the only secondary school in the city which doesn’t deliver DofE as part of its curriculum. Several attempts have been made by the Local Authority (LA) and a Police Community Support Officer to initiate DofE within the college with no success. Show less
