    • L3Harris Institute for Assured Information

      Aug 2015 - now

Lead teams in executing research projects in support of the institute, and compiled technical documents for research projects.Managed a team to create a unified framework harnessing the power of multiple virtualization backends while making it trivial to use for the end user increasing our capability perform experiments.Collaborated with external personnel to design an intelligent method of cyber experiment selection with the goal of reducing the experiment search space thereby reducing resources and time spent on the experiment.Maintain institute infrastructure such as web services and applications (including public websites) to support faculty and staff as well as designed and developed custom applications. Maintained Ansible playbooks for managing infrastructure. Maintained institute experiment tools including specialized computers, sensors, simulators etc.Developed cyber-information sharing protocols to share any cyber events in real time and be able to act upon those events in an autonomous fashion. Utilized knowledge modelling capabilities to be able to abstract events enabling support for any kind of events to be transmitted in a secure and anonymous way.Researched methods of visualizing knowledge models in various designs to gain new perspectives to the knowledge which resulted in the development of a real time user collaboration based knowledge modeling application. Show less Designed an experiment automation framework to create and manage experiments autonomously in the cloud via ontologies saving valuable researcher time. Managed the complete architecture of the system and the multiple modules to support various workflows in an experiment. The backend system consisted of modules written in Java which communicated with various processes simultaneously while the web application was constructed in AngularJS.Developed cyber monitoring tools to be used in cyber experimentation including a web interface to give the user a complete view of the experiment scenario with the goal of reducing time spent investigating errors in a cyber network built for experimentation. Could be easily deployed to real world networks. Show less Designed a user modeling framework to introduce controlled behaviour patterns in a network for cyber experimentation and simplified the learning curve to create cyber missions. The framework created a non-deterministic distribution of network traffic along with real time adaptation of behaviours in response to network security events (services going down, breaches etc.)Designed a graphical interface to assist users in monitoring missions performed by the user models based on real-world scenarios.Simplified monitoring missions based on real-world scenarios via various interfaces saving valuable time in locating anomalies and issues.Designed and built mission dependent cyber scenarious using the user modeling framework for a network security course as well as various cyber experiments.Provided support by assisting in the deployment of various software across our infrastructure using Ansible.
