Operational duties included the security of classified information and the protection of U.S. diplomatic lives and property, and were performed under instructions dictated by the Department of State and Ambassadors and Consul Generals at the posts in which Sergeant Landry served. The constant daily demand for integrity, loyalty, initiative, self-discipline and personal appearance was far beyond those standards required of an average Marine Sergeant.Assignment to embassy duty is predicated upon successful completion of a detailed Single-Scope Background Investigation.
