  • Largest single-site employer in Cornwall with some 3000 personnel. 10 Naval Squadrons, engineering training and the School of Flight Deck Operations.• Led a motivated military, civilian and contractor workforce which was proven in delivering successfully to multiple operations and in developing for the future.• Squadrons were on operations at sea and in Afghanistan delivering exceptional information to commanders.• Devised a route to more aircraft availability (c10%) for less money from two helicopter fleets through better management of commercial/operational interfaces.• Delivered a helicopter Search and Rescue service (busiest in the UK) which saved many lives in very difficult conditions with crews recognised with national bravery awards.• SRO for a large infrastructure programme to build new hanger and services whilst maintaining seamless operational output. Secured HM Treasury approval for an innovative equipment upgrade programme and led pre-contract approval for a radar programme.• Achieved the first ‘green’ assessment for the air safety audit of all operational aircraft and systems.
