  Effetto del mezzo di dissoluzione sulle cinetiche di rilascio di teofillina e di idratazione di matrici a base di idrogeli.In questo lavoro mi sono occupato di studiare come varia il rilascio di farmaco da matrici polimeriche variando le proprietà esterne del mezzo di dissoluzione. In particolare sono stati fatti variare pH e forza ionica del mezzo.Competenze acquisite durante il tirocinio:- Analisi HPLC;- Analisi gravimetriche;- Studio delle cinetiche di rilascio;- Modellazione del contenuto di acqua in matrici polimeriche.   Studio del comportamento di idrogeli per applicazioni biomediche.In questo lavoro mi sono occupato di una prima parte di caratterizzazione fisica e termica di idrogeli e dunque sono stati messi a punto dei test per studiare le loro proprietà meccaniche. Infine per studiare e predire la risposta meccanica di questi materiali sono state condotte delle simulazioni con il software COMSOL Multiphysics.Competenze acquisite durante il tirocinio:- Utilizzo del viscosimetro;- Caratterizzazione termica di idrogeli;- Spettrofotometria UV-Vis;- Utilizzo del software di simulazione COMSOL Multiphysics.   Synthesis and characterization of polyurethane foams for industrial applications. This project is part of the innovative industrial doctorate in collaboration between the university (Naples, Federico II) and the company (Dow Italia, Correggio).Acquired techniques during the research project:-Quantification and modeling of polyurethane reaction kinetics under high-pressure CO2 by Near-Infrared spectroscopy;-Thermal properties of polymers evaluated by DSC and TGA:-Conduction and supervision of a lab-scale plant by using supercritical CO2,-Foaming process by high-pressure CO2.-Image analysis of video acquisition related to the polyurethane foaming mechanisms;-synthesis of polyurethane and polyisocyanurate foams with reduced cell size by using novel liquid additives.Skills acquired during the PhD:-Advanced course of mass spectrosopy;-Applied thermodynamics to materials science and technology;-Numerical methods in materials science and technology;-Industry 4.0: innovation in R&D Show less

  Synthesis and characterization of polyurethane and polyisocyanurate foams to be used in the field of the appliances. During this stage, the effect and the modeling of new additives was observed leading to innovative PU and PIR with reduced cell size. This study is currently patented (submitted) by Dow Italia s.r.l.This study has been conducted under the Industrial Doctorate.

  Investigation on the role of air bubbles inclusion on the polyurethane reaction kinetics. During this stage, I specialized on the in-situ monitoring of the PU foaming process by FTIR spectroscopy and X-Ray radioscopy. In particular, it was observed how the amount of air bubbles included by the mixing step of the PU reactants affects the reaction kinetics and how these are correlated to the cell coarsening mechanisms.This study has been conducted under the Industrial Doctorate.
