  Activities and Societies: Village Adoption Program(VAP) It's a unique nation building program conceptualised and implemented by NIFTEM, in order to link rural entrepreneurs and farmers to the mainstream economy. The objective is to create awareness in farmers regarding Value addition, preservation, reduction of wastages and provide a Business Model to them by integrating underprivileged sections of our population with organised sector. Several important social issues like Girl Child Education, Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan, Save the Girl Child, provision of basic amenities (clean drinking water, electricity and hygienic food) are the highlights of the visit. It is a symbiotic relationship leading to exchange of knowledge where students help rural people in developing market linkages for promotion of their products, or setting up of a business (via Make in India initiative) and in return, get hands on experience about Good Agricultural Practices (GAP), and gain traditional knowledge about food production practices, food preservation, etc. Show less
