      Being a member of URECS (University Research Experience in Complex Systems), provided me, a high school student to work alongside a university student for a university research experience. COBWEB, a software that allows complex systems to be demonstrated provided the research project dimension. The project I have currently finished involved the relation between Autism and Depression. Alongside other members of this project within URECS, we were able to successfully create a research paper. Show less

      A group of strong youth wishing to learn and understand more about global issues as well as advocacy skills. Plan International Canada is now providing the opportunity for the Speaker's Bureau virtually due to COVID-19. Individuals will be trained in public speaking and how to create positive change in the community. Some topics that are focussed on include, girls' rights and poverty issues globally; in addition to local matters in one's community.

    • Girls E-Mentorship (GEM)

      Mentee

      A chosen applicant from hundreds of applicants, GEM provides high school girls with an opportunity to be paired with a female mentor. Over the course of nine months, girls are mentored with leadership, self-growth and professional development. Alongside the mentorship, students will be given enrichment and scholarship opportunities. As I embark on this program I hope to learn plenty about the professional world and make most of it.
