Helped have a general overview of commercial as well as technical roles. The aforementioned roles were primarily acting in the yachting industry but since the same roles are found in all sectors of the maritime industry, this experience served as preparation when entering the shipping world.

      Involved in the supervision during the lengthening of Silver Spirit in Fincantieri Shipyard in Palermo, Sicily (Italy). Oversaw the different aspects which take place during a big refit from the Owner's perspective and its relations with the Shipyard and various contractors onsite. Helped understand the importance of being able to adapt to unforeseen events in an environment where works are carried out against the clock.

Helped understand the importance of planning ahead and keeping track of the progress in an environment where a single element not taken into consideration could cause enormous delays over the long period of time the construction takes place. Helped understand the importance of communication between the crew members and the contractors whilst keeping the shore side team (office) informed of the project's progress.
