As a General Foreman, I was immersed in daily operations and generated comprehensive reports on production status and plans for gap closure to upper management. This involved coordinating manufacturing activities and advocating effective work practices, such as job safety assessments. To ensure compliance with quality standards, I executed company policies and enforced uniformity in construction methods. My other accomplishments:✓ Directed a team of 75 UAW employees to ensure plant metrics adherence, safety, cost, and employee management.✓ Sustained 100% first-time quality (FTQ) on the H2 axle assembly line on four (4) separate occasions.✓ Developed visual aids for parts, introduced new materials, and trained staff on updated assembly processes to exceed production expectations on the launch of the GMT 900 axle program in accordance with established procedures.✓ Successfully ran 2550 axles in a nine-hour (9-hour) period through efforts on scrap reduction and enhanced time cycles. This exceeded the production standard of 2350 axles in the same timeframe. Show less

      Operations Manager

During my tenure and leadership as an Operations Manager, I accounted for the planning, management, and coordination of production initiatives within the production plan to guarantee alignment with organizational standards and surpass manufacturing key performance indicators (KPIs). While maximizing safety performance, I optimized daily processes and delivered year-over-year non-material savings targets. Moreover, I led daily SQDC reviews at the plant to ensure performance to production basics and delivery of expected results. My other accomplishments:✓ Oversaw a team of six (6) supervisors, 60 team leaders, and 140 hourly employees to drive continuous improvement.✓ Identified a performance issue stemming from leadership inexperience. Proposed a solution to the plant manager, which was an in-depth leadership training program that aimed to equip facility leaders with essential skills to manage direct reports.→ The program was focused on motivation techniques and methods to influence the workforce positively. This resulted in improvements in plant productivity, employee morale, and overall operational performance.→ The success of this training program extended beyond the facility; was invited to conduct similar sessions at other companies within the organization and external businesses. Notably, the Chamber of Commerce in Dunlap, TN, requested my expertise to train local leaders and government officials.✓ Trained 300+ individuals in Tennessee, showcasing the impact and value of the leadership program developed.✓ Spearheaded a Green Belt project at Mann-Hummel in 2019 aimed at reducing scrap on the Nissan Manifold assembly line to address $140K in scrap costs from 2018. Managed a team of five (5) members to oversee this scrap reduction.✓ Facilitated a dramatic reduction in scrap costs to under $10K the next year, enhancing production efficiency and reducing waste.
