Sept 1995 - Jun 2002Administrator Directed the daily operations of a licensed 120 bed skilled nursing facility including revenue growth and expense management, collections, resident care needs, staffing, all departmental operations, and resident and family concerns. Responsible in coordination with the Director of Nursing for managing the survey process to meet mandated licensing requirements resulting in continued regulatory compliance. Increased profit $350K per year by opening a 15 bed skilled nursing unit and later expanding the unit to 33 beds. Developed a marketing and resident-focused strategy to change the public’s perception of the facility, resulting in a 15% increase of private pay residents, and an ADC of 115, with 20 being skilled nursing patients. Established an open dialogue with the state regulatory agency, generating trust and support for the facility. Negotiated two new Medical Director Agreements, 4 HMO/PPO contracts, and all other facility contracts including pharmacy, laboratory, pulmonary, and rehabilitation. Show less

Managed the monthly and year end audited financial statement production in addition to the monthly and yearly State of Iowa reimbursement reporting process.
