  I am currently a Close-In Weapon System (CIWS) Instructor in the Navy. My duties for this job are to instruct Department of Defense (DOD) personnel (to include, US Navy, US Coast Guard, and Foreign Military Members) on the operation and maintenance of an extremely intricate weapon system called CIWS. I am trained to troubleshoot, maintain, repair and operate this weapon system, including digital equipment and mechanical systems (with hydraulics and pneumatics), computers, compressors, circuit cards, electronic circuitry and components, solid-state devices, RF transmission, receiving, and processing equipment, ammunition handling and firing, fiber optics, communications system operation and repair, motor controls, AC/DC circuits, networking fundamentals, and first aid and safety. Specifically as an instructor, I am able to deliver lectures and oral presentations; utilize techniques and methods of blended learning; present and facilitate case studies in a classroom environment; conduct computer based training; and employ a range of motivational techniques and encourage learning.
