  Created Transcription factor binding site (TFBS) finding script using python for promoter sequences where matrices for non-consensus TFBS motifs were self made and based on a particular scoring system, we were able to output the exact motif found, start site, end site and arbitrary score which is further used to determine the strength of TFBS, This information was retrieved for promoter sequences to mutate specific TFBS to determine how they influence the promoter activity using FACS and other wet lab experimental techniques Show less

Worked with the G4 hunter script (G4 quadruplexes identification python program) to study G4 – predicted and analyzed the G4 present in promoter sequences from research article ‘systemic interrogation of human promoters’2. Successfully created python script to identify target TFBS (Transcription Factor binding sites) on the sequences - coded matrices for non-consensus TFBS’s, gave a score above which the algorithm detects and give the TFBS, start, end and score.3. Filtered the sequences for mutations having a particular combination of TFBS present with and without G4 to make synthetic sequences for experimental purpose of detecting the changes in promoter activity as a consequence of mutations.
