      Sept 2013 - Aug 2015
      Graduate Research Assistant

Quantum computingFabrication of thin films devices for application in quantum computing. In collaboration with the Institute for Quantum Computing, I investigated the growth of Al on various semiconductor substrates for the fabrication of superconducting resonators.I actively participated in the installation of the molecular beam epitaxy lab of the University of Waterloo (MBE reactor, RHEED, BandiT pyrometer, reflectance camera, XRD, microscope).

      May 2014 - Dec 2014
      Graduate Teaching Assistant

Advanced Calculus classes for Nanotechnology students.Recipient of the Teaching Assistantship Award (Spring 2014).

    • IES - Institute for Electronics and Systems

      Sept 2015 - May 2019
PhD candidate (MSCA Early stage researcher)

PhotovoltaicsConception of novel III-V photovoltaic cells integrated on Silicon. My research project included the design (simulations, bibliographic survey), epitaxy (MBE), clean room processing (photolithography, PECVD, RIE) and material (XRD, AFM, QE) and device (J-V, QE) characterization. Recipient of a Marie-Skłodowska-Curie scholarship, I was a PhD candidate in the NANOMIR group. I interacted regularly with international industrial and academic partners.

Solar hydrogenConception of III-V metamorphic structures for photoelectrochemical solar cells.I investigate the metamorphic epitaxy of solar cells with ideal bandgap for water splitting (design, growth, characterization, processing, testing). I also explore cost mitigation strategies for III-V-based photoelectrochemical cells, including lift-off techniques, encapsulation and earth-abundant catalysts. I am interested not only by the technical aspect of solar hydrogen production but by their economic trajectories. Show less
