I exercised high quality customer service to both private and commercial operations, and enjoyed being surrounded by aviation throughout the day.

  Officer

  I was an officer at Cal Poly's Mustang Aviation Club. This is a community for pilots and aviation enthusiasts. I enjoyed the opportunity to connect with a community I am passionate about, make friends with like minded people, and learn about aviation from a hands on perspective. I supported the organization of Airport Day's to exposing new people to aviation and helped teach a yearly private pilot ground school course for interested student pilots.

  Design Build Fly at Cal Poly

  Team Officer

  I was an officer for Design Build Fly (DBF). Each year, the DBF committee releases a new mission and set of design requirements for a remote control aircraft. On the team we came up with different prototypes and an eventual final design to take to a competition in the spring against other Universities. I attended multiple weekly meetings and helped lead design projects, such as looking at specific high lift devices or prototyping different composites. I also contributed technical writing to design reports for the official DBF committee. I enjoyed the fast paced environment of the club and exposure to aircraft design processes. Show less

  Systems Architecture & Requirement Management Intern

  I worked in the Systems Engineering Department at AeroVironment as an Intern over the Summer of 2021. Among many tasks, one of the longest was developing over 300 requirement verification plans for a new product and implementing them as operational procedures into a System Test Plan. I also enjoyed the challenge and of ramping up and managing 5 unique Concept of Operations for my functional group, for everything from system development to risk management. Throughout the course of my work I relied heavily on my Aeronautical background knowledge, detail based work ethic, and strong EQ as I collaborated with all of the subject experts on the team.   Trip Leader

  I was a Trip Leader for Cal Poly ASI's Poly Escapes. This program is an outdoor trip operator. Throughout the course of my first year, as a Co-Leader, I attended weekly training sessions to develop the hard and soft skills necessary to be a leader in the backcountry and shadowed senior leaders on trips. In my second year I worked on teams to update the training curriculum for new members in the program and led several of those trainings. I collaborated with peers to plan, budget, and execute several trips with guidance from senior members in the program. These always include post analysis with the program manager to reflect on how the trip was executed and personal points for improvement. After a long pause of the program due to the pandemic, we trained new leaders and began running trips again. I loved the ability to build my leadership skills in this position and opportunity to share my passion for the outdoors with new people. Show less

  Flight Test Engineering Intern

  I worked in the Flight Test Department at Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation during the Summer of 2022. Within Flight Test I gained exposure to operations in the Aerodynamics & Performance group, Powerplant & Mechanics group, and the Avionics group. Among several tasks, I enjoyed creating a tool in Matlab to streamline comparative analysis of test data for various applications. I improved my technical writing skills drafting a part 25 certification flight test plan and an avionics software regression report. I gained hands on experience flying 14.7 hours as an FTE in training and working to assemble test flight card decks, monitor data with IADS, and generate post flight squawks. I loved working closely with other engineers throughout the internship and learning something new about aviation every day. Show less
