      To further expand my experience and skills, I accepted a slightly different role at Skegness Natureland to work with the resident seals and the rescue seals in their final stage of rehabilitation rather than working in the seal hospital and responding to seal rescue callouts. I kept my responsibilities for providing daily husbandry for the aquarium and meerkats. My main duties included;• For the resident seals and penguins: feeding, training, cleaning and carrying out periodic health checks to ensure optimal health and welfare.• Presenting educational public talks throughout the day to engage the public with our work.• For the aquarium: conducting water quality tests, carrying out water changes and other necessary adjustments to ensure correct water parameters were met and feeding a wide variety of freshwater and marine fish.• For the meerkats: feeding, maintaining the enclosure and carrying out periodic health checks to ensure optimal health and welfare.• Maintaining complete and accurate records on feeding, cleaning and environmental conditions for all animals.• Ensuring all enclosures are presentable to visitors.• Covering the husbandry of any other sections of the park when necessary.I also implemented several improvements to the sections that I was managing, including: • Researching and creating new feeding schedules for the meerkats, resident seals and aquarium animals.• Creating new record sheets for the rescue and resident seals, meerkats and medication sign-outs.• Habitat modifications for the meerkats and aquarium tank re-designs.• Finding and creating more enrichment.• Re-designing the visitor display signs and external theming in the aquarium. Show less During this role, I was responsible for the daily husbandry and maintenance of the seal hospital, aquarium and meerkat sections, and for responding to seal rescue callouts.       In this role, I work on several projects that promote active travel and improve air quality in Colchester. I have 3 main areas of work:Delivering DEFRA-funded projects• Worked with an external web agency to redevelop the Cycle Colchester website into a modern and useful community-led resource hub for cycling in Colchester.• Work with an external communications partner to update the CAReless Pollution School's Toolkit• Engage with schools across Colchester to promote the School's Toolkit, including delivering school assemblies and workshops. • Attend community events to promote active travel.Coordinating the council's travel plan• Run and promote the annual travel survey and analyse the results.• Organise events and activities to celebrate active travel days throughout the year.• Update Modeshift with all travel plan initiatives, survey results and targets, achieving national accreditation for the travel plan.Running Colchester Travel Plan Club• Work with businesses of all sizes across Colchester on their travel plans.• Organise and lead quarterly meetings with members including external speakers on various topics relating to travel.
