Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) Religion - Hebrew Bible/Old Testament Track

My dissertation uses literary analysis to show that acts of deception instantiate the central theme of 1 Samuel: God’s election of David and dis-election of Saul. Through character studies of Abigail, Michal, Jonathan, Saul, and David, I demonstrate how each act of deception develops wider themes.
