  Designed and developed baseband signal processing systems for radar and communications equipment. Worked as part of large teams and consortia. Developed software for real-time embedded systems in C/C++ on Xilinx FPGA PPCs, Blackfin DSPs, VxWorks etc. Developed firmware in VHDL. Worked through full project life-cycles from preparing systems architectures to integration, testing and delivery.

  Led teams that developed and maintained the software for a range of real-time communication equipment. Worked closely with customers and suppliers to support the products through their life cyle, be that integrating new hardware, delivering training or developing maintenance procedures. The products included DSP processsors, embedded Linux control software as well as FPGAs, CPLDs and microcontrollers. Maintained a control GUI written in Labview and supervised automated RF testing using Teststand. Followed an agile development process using IBM Jazz for requirements capture, defect tracking and continuous integration. Show less
