  As a RPI for Transport Investigations Limited my main task is to protect the revenue of the company which has hired us.I have mostly worked in the South Wales area together with/for Arriva Trains Wales.I work as part of a team of RPI's ranging from 2 people up to 8 people, both on board trains and on station platforms.As said earlier, then the main task is to protect the revenue of the company, which is done by conducting ticket checks both on and off trains, educating and informing customers about railway laws and rules, investigating and reporting incidents regarding wrong use of the company's service and offer help and backup to train guards and station staff.While these are the main tasks, customer service and support is also a big part of the job. Tasks include: Helping and informing current and potential customers about the different services, provide help to station staff at events, guide customers and to a certain degree making sure station platforms rules are upheld.
