      Spokesperson for esteemed agency of the Commonwealth of Virginia with federal, state, regional and local authorities. Represented Port of Virginia with U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, American Association of Port Authorities, Hampton Roads Maritime Association, multiple Economic Development Commissions, multiple State and City officials, U.S. Foreign Trade Zones Board and the National Association of Foreign Trade Zones. Participated in drafting of legislation submitted and approved by the General Assembly. Responsibilities included managing and annual reporting for Foreign Trade Zone #20.       Responsible for providing legal counsel and oversight to support Orlando Health's affiliated group purchasing organization (GPO), its members, and its Board of Directors and is also responsible for participating with other key executives in strategic planning for the GPO to ensure that appropriate market opportunities are captured on a local, national, and international basis. Responsible for the following: Partnering with applicable constituents to evalute market opportunities that involve group purchasing as a value proposition; Acting as the legal representative for strategic opportunities and clinical integration initiatives; Participating in operational and legal due diligence in connection with evaluation of market opportunities involving the GPO, focusing on legal impediments to integration assumptions and plans; Assisting with resolution of tactical GPO issues; Working with applicable executives in defining, documenting, and implementing processes for addressing recurring GPO issues; Coordinating with outside legal counsel regarding structure and tax issues, preparing and negotiating contracts; Assuming responsibility for coordinating with Corporate Compliance, GPO President and SVP of Legal Affairs and outside legal counsel to ensure that all GPO contracts and activities are structured to meet appropriate legal and regulatory requirements; Preparing presentations for potential members regarding the legal aspects of GPO opportunities; Monitoring state and federal regulation for any potential impact on the GPO, including but not limited to, the Medicare reimbursement regulations; Serving as liaison to international law counsel; Determining associate and outside counsel support needs for the GPO; Monitoring the outside counsel legal budget for the GPO; Possessing a sound understanding of the GPO self-contracting model and their integration with broad and complex legal issues; Handling special projects at request of SVP of Legal Affairs.
