Texas Defenders won FIRST PLACE IN THE SILVER FOR ALL Southwest United States in 2015. Rookie TeamTeams learn to use virtual machines to solve security problems on several different OS systems such as Linux, windows versions 8, 8.1, 7, XP, vista, server 2008, etc.Myself and two team members took 160 hours of cyber defense summer 2014 at UT Dallas under the direction of Mr. Kevin Henson. Offering youth a chance to excel in technology, engineering, science, and math while being challenged at levels beyond their expectations.Educational workshops are in planning mode. Students learn technology, engineering, 3D printing and how to run a business, lead teams, and how to be a team member.Challenges: Getting schools and/or parents to see the big picture and partner with us.Note: Due to the few competitors a small group has competed in, students who did not know they would enjoy IT and engineering have entered UIL CS competitions at their schools.Parents have stated they never thought their child would be interested in anything so challenging and were amazed to see the intellectual growth and change in their children.
