Activities and Societies: Snowboarding, Concert Band Studied Architecture through architectural workshops offered by the university. Each workshop lasted half or one whole semester and provided a design build challenge using different materials and fabrication technologies. I took a Digital Ceramics workshop which taught me the limits of ceramic as a material as well as taught me how to use Rhino software and the CNC router. I took a Digital Ceramics workshop which taught me the limits of ceramic as a material as well as taught me how to use Rhino software and the CNC router. Our final project was a parametric brick design with uniform variation throughout the bricks. Another workshop was Masonry in which I traveled to the union masonry school three times per week to learn about CMU block, bricks, and how to lay them. Our final project was a 6' x 4' mock up wall. I also participated in a Wood Limits workshop which taught the use of hand tools for the first half of the semester and the use of the laser cutter and CNC router the second half of the semester. Our final project was a rafter system designed to support a Minnesota snow load. Show less
