  I develop policies with managers to prevent accidents and assure safe, operations at the district including: Occupational Safety and Health (OSH), Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT), Off-highway Vehicle use, Risk Management, employee training, accident prevention methods and techniques, occupational disease and illnesses prevention, industrial hygiene, emergency procedures, accident investigation, and Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER.) I ensure agency, OSHA, and other state/federal standards and requirements are met. I wrote several templates for OSHA required programs (used for statewide policy guidance.) I evaluate operations: HAZMAT, force account/engineering, natural resource management, forestry, recreation, road maintenance, oil and gas, mining (surface and sub-surface), fire, wild horse/burro management for hazards abatement control, and provide technical expertise to managers and other employees regarding risk management, OSHA requirements (and other guidance from NFPA, CDC, NIOSH, NEC, etc.), proper selections and use of PPE, and safe work practices. I conduct facility inspections on main office buildings/warehouses/yards, recreation areas/sites and/or campgrounds, and other facilities to determine compliance with safety and health standards, policies, and regulations (using BLM, OSHA standards 29 CFR 1910 and 1926, National Electrical Code, and National Fire Prevention Association codes and guidance; and other types of regulatory guidance.)
