      Instructor of Sociology of Women

Within my role as instructor at UNCC, I taught a 4000-level Sociology of Women course to 25+ students online.Skill related to UNCC teaching position:Proficiency in MoodleStudent Praise:“I am happy to say that the course challenged me, but in a positive way; the format of reading various essays, articles, and even song lyrics was a unique way to gain perspective into the experiences of these phenomenal women. It gave me a unique opportunity to think outside of the box contained with my own personal experiences. I read the stories of women from other racial, ethnic, and financial backgrounds. I listened to their stories, I empathized with them, and most importantly I saw myself in each of them. Men should be required to take a course such as this. It may not open their eyes permanently, but at the very least they may be able to fathom, for just one second, the plight of women everywhere.”- University of North Carolina Charlotte student, Spring 2014 Show less
