Responsible for the safe operation, handling, launch, recovery and maintenance of Combat Rubber Reconnaissance Craft (CRRC) and its associated equipment. Worked closely with scout swimmers often in low light conditions conducting Insertion and extraction techniques.

      Being assigned to the Marine Unit requires to have both knowledge and skills pertaining to law enforcement and maritime duties. Have been assigned challenging duties including traditional maritime law enforcement, anti-terrorism, force protection, port security and safety, as well as providing unit-level training in these fields. Have conducted and coordinate maritime operations with federal and local agencies with similar responsibilities. Proficiently operated jet, outboard and inboard vessels ranging from 18’ to 44’.While assigned to the Marine Unit have had experience in boat handling, VHF radio communication, navigation using electronic radar and chart plotter. As a member of the Marine Unit it’s important to have extensive knowledge in line handling, anchoring, emergency procedures such as small vessel damage control and man overboard. Conducted search and rescue operations with port partners. Experienced in coming along side other vessels underway and not underway. Works closely with the Underwater Recovery Team (URT) and must be aware how divers operate to ensure their safety and successfully completion their missions. Working at the Marine Unit it is important for each member to take on many different roles with other members requiring team work coordination while ensuring the job/mission is completed successfully.
