  Transport Planner

  I moved to transport in 2010 where I was to become their new coordinator and planner, planning multi drop home deliveries for our product. Here I had the opportunity to hone my skills with working with others and problem solving. Using various planning software (DPS, Map Point) we run an organized delivery system where customers can now have their order three days after purchase. I’ve learnt a lot about VOSA legislations, forecasting and KPIs. With my unique way of thinking and decision making we are able to plan, pick and load 50 vehicles a day. As well as planning I help the Transport Supervisor with vehicle defects and driver issues, where at times we have 90 drivers working a day. Working as a team we've cut our load cost by 4% on a daily basis over the past 6 months. KEY ACHIEVEMENTS  Able to plan 50 multiple drop vehicles comfortably. Help cut delivery lead-time for 5 days to 3 days. Making daily procedures more efficient and effective. Help deal with up to 90 Drivers per day. Working with an order bank up to 3000. Cut load costs from 21% to 17%.   Starting in October 2013, I joined Countrywide Farmers to make a team of four planners to control LPG Outbound deliveries, Inbound deliveries, retail store deliveries, supplier collections and our home delivery fleet. I mainly concentrated on the LPG inbound and outbound deliveries for the first year.Two years on I am now solely responsible of a fleet of 11 trucks, 20 trailers and managing 12 drivers. Making sure that our 70 stores and DC are replenished on time and in full, servicing the fleet and KPI's are done on time for the senior management.I am now part of the team which is to successfully implement the new Microsoft AX system for Distribution & Warehousing.
