      Project under supervision of Prof Helen Griffiths.• During the placement year I gained an experience of using a range of Biochemical techniques such as: TNF - α ELISA, IL - 10 ELISA, Protein Carbonyl ELISA, Glucose assay, TBARS assay, BCA assay, MTT assay, Trypan Blue cell viability count, Western blotting, Flow Cytometry (with supervision).• Furthermore, during the placement year I performed a range of sterile cell culture techniques on THP - 1 suspension cell line such as: passaging, setting up a range of treatments from 2 to 72 hours in duration, recovering cells from frozen state.
