I read multiple times in significant services at Llandaff Cathedral, and played the organ in important school events.

      Based in South Wales, the choir is made up of ladies with no prior musical experience. Now with over 90 members strong, the choir perform various concerts, have performed on national radio, and recently travelled to an international music festival in Croatia. The role shows my commitment to my local community and required me show professionalism, dedication, and helped me experience being a member of a different sort of team.

      Lloyds Scholars, in partnership with some of Britain's top universities aims to encourage and support undergraduates from families with below average income; both to access and succeed through University and significantly improve their employability skills. It is a unique social mobility programme that aims to open doors to students who might not have the financial backing to go to a leading university. The programme provides eligible students with a complete package of financial and vocational support, mentoring, and volunteering opportunities. Students will receive a bursary and cash rewards for high marks, paid summer internships with the Group, mentoring and support from our colleagues, and the chance to build valuable networks. In return they will be expected to volunteer a minimum of 100 hours a year in the local community and champion the programme. It is not a recruitment programme, however Scholars do have the opportunity to step into the Lloyds Banking Group Graduate programme following their internships. The programme launched in 2011 and continues to go from strength to strength, supporting over 480 undergraduates already and welcoming 120 new students each year from our partner universities. Show less I worked in the Risk Division as part of the 'Unsecured Collections and Recoveries - Loans' team in Terra Nova House, Cardiff Bay. During my internship, I acquired SAS Programming skills and played an active role in a variety of projects that my team were required to undertake. I was also proactive in arranging insight days in other departments within the bank. This has allowed me to obtain a broad understanding of how a vast financial institution such as Lloyds Banking Group operates. I received a 'Strong' rating for my internship, and was commended for my exceptional communication, analytical, commitment, and project management skills. Show less

      Runner Up in the Wales Schools Debating Championships CEWC Nov 2015 I reached the final of the Wales Schools Debating Championships. During the competition, I was required to often debate against my natural inclinations on wide ranging topics such as the Israel-Palestine Conflict, China's one-child policy, and the success of world targets in tackling poverty. In our run to the final, I defeated from a number of Wales' top schools including Howells School and Haberdashers' Monmouth School for Girls. The standard of the entire competition was immensely high… Show more I reached the final of the Wales Schools Debating Championships. During the competition, I was required to often debate against my natural inclinations on wide ranging topics such as the Israel-Palestine Conflict, China's one-child policy, and the success of world targets in tackling poverty. In our run to the final, I defeated from a number of Wales' top schools including Howells School and Haberdashers' Monmouth School for Girls. Prior to sitting the exam, I was obliged to research my repertoire and prepare oral responses to a wide range of potential questions, such as those regarding the historical context of my chosen pieces and their musical structure. In the exam itself, the sight reading element involved me preparing a piece of Grade 6 standard in only ten minutes and then performing it to the examiners present. This helped develop my ability to work quickly under time pressure and highlight the most necessary aspects of a previously unseen task. Show less
