As a resource teacher, I worked closely with students who had various learning disabilities and/or special needs. My main responsibility was to provide support and assistance to ensure that all students were able to access the curriculum and achieve academic success. I collaborated with classroom teachers to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students and provided accommodations and modifications to instruction and assessments as needed. Additionally, I worked with students in small groups or on a one-on-one basis to provide targeted instruction in specific skill areas. I maintained communication with parents and other professionals involved in the students' education to ensure that their needs were being met, and also provided support and training to classroom teachers in best practices for working with students with disabilities. Through my work as a resource teacher, I was able to make a positive impact on the academic and social-emotional growth of students with special needs. Show less
