  Mathematical modelling and hardware implementation of four-quadrant chopper was analysed. Hardware implementation of dour quadrant chopper was done to analyse the closed-loop control using PID, modified PID and Optimal PID controllers. Double closed-loop control of DC motor with the transition from single phase to double phase was analysed. And its effect on the performance was compared to different PID controllers.
