      NPI Material Planner

      In this role I was responsible for the introduction of new product into the business system and manage the client’s NPI aftermarket. I was highly involved in this role from it's conception through to training new staff when the role was moved to another site.My responsibilities included:- Was part of a team which set up an NPI aftermarket department for the client.- Liaison with overseas Technical Authoring, Purchasing, Marketing and Finance teams to co-ordinate the introduction of new aftermarket product requiring interrogation of the clients business systems, SAP and PDXi, as well as obtaining the necessary data and costs from suppliers.- Being a main point of contact for the Customer Services Administrators to resolve all NPI queries raised by customers.- Managing the clients NPI aftermarket parts to provide high levels of availability whilst maintaining optimum target inventory levels.- Controlling back-order levels to agreed objectives of monetary value and length of time outstanding.- Analysis of customer returns- Producing training manuals and carry out necessary training with new employees.       - Developed a Business Readiness Cutover Plan for managing supplier, customer and data readiness amongst many other critical elements.- Worked with a third-party packaging supplier to develop processes for packing directly into OEM customer image on receipt of product avoiding re-pack cost from Perkins image.- Collaborating with Business, I.T. Consultants and Solution Provider to identify a preferred replacement to the existing ERP system.- Interviewed prospective solution providers to understand capabilities and coordinated a team effort to score and prioritise preferred candidates across all functions of the business.- Collaborated with consultants to develop new Supply Chain processes to compliment a new SAP S/4 ERP environment aiming to remain true to SAP standard processes and reduce customisation costs whilst delivering on the business requirements. Show less In parallel to my day to day responsibilities, I have volunteered for and lead several key 6 Sigma projects as a Green Belt.Key Project Management Activity- Lead a project which increased the proportion of schedules being automatically ordered by 20% thus saving 600 man hours per annum.- Lead a cross-functional team which designed and implemented a process and system for scrapping obsolete product. This project required that I liaise between all departments within the business, higher management and third party software designers. This project resulted in the removal of £1m of obsolete product and will correct a SOx compliance issue.- Developed and implemented a database which became the number one tool for managing schedule deferrals and cancelations thus supporting a reduction in inventory of $11m during 2009. Show less My day to day responsibilities currently involve management of a portfolio of 30 suppliers and a £1.8m inventory of diesel engine spares. I am tasked with providing world class availability to Perkins’ worldwide distribution network by liaising with suppliers, customer services, NPI and specifications teams to ensure KPIs for availability, delivery performance, quality and customer service are met. This portfolio includes management of the full spares range for an engine collaboration with a Japanese engine manufacturer and I have been responsible for hosting supplier reviews both in the United Kingdom and Japan.In addition to my day to day responsibilities, I have volunteered for and lead several key 6 Sigma projects as a Green Belt.Key Achievements- Responsible for leading a visit to Japan to investigate and resolve supply challenges and since this visit, parts availability has increased from 83% to 96% (4% above target) and delivery performance has increased from 55% to 99%.- Worked with the second largest supplier to Perkins Aftermarket to resolve quality complaints which have dropped from 40 per month to 2 per month with solutions in place to end all issues experienced.- Designed and implemented a shipment tracking database improving inquiry times from 5-10 minutes per inquiry to 5-10 seconds per inquiry.- Designed and implemented a communication tool for providing more detailed back-order information to customers reducing the number phone inquiries to the Planning department by a third.- During 2013, all KPIs were met and exceeded performance was demonstrated by maintaining high availability while keeping inventory below target and ensuring customer back-orders were kept within tolerances.
