      During the summer I assisted the naturalists for summer camp. Classes ranged from Pre-K to 9th grade for three hour sessions. Topics ranged from mythical creatures, oceans, rain forests, arctic deserts, and pollution in New Jersey. I assisted the naturalists teaching classroom activities with crafts or science experiments, as well as outdoor activities, mainly hiking in the Watchung Reservation. Along with other assistant naturalists, I supervised children of all ages in a group for lunch and recreational activities.Part of the fall, winter, and spring, I worked at the center's information desk, providing assistance for patrons visiting the museum. I also held story time for children and brought out live turtles and gave a brief information session about their habitat, food they eat, how to determine their age and gender, and where they range from.
